Born in 1967, in Switzerland, H.K. started trumpet at age 10 at the Jazz School in St.Gallen, and continued on to the professional school to study with the Jazz-giant trumpet player Benny Bailey and pianist Art Lande from 1981-1985. Her international career started in 1985 playing in groups with musicians like: Joe Henderson, Sal Nistico, Chet Baker, Daniel Humair, Lee Konitz, Nina Simone, Carmen Mac Ray, Steve Lacy, Luca Flores, David Murray, Gianluigi Trovesi, Claudio Fasoli and many others. For the past ten years Hilaria Kramer has been working intensely with her own bands and projects like her Quartet “la Suite” (3 Cds released), featuring the great Daniel Humair on drums and her Duo (1 CD “Do Luar”) with the French pianist Jean Christoph Cholet. She was Member of the board of Swiss Music Syndicate from 2005-2009 and was founder and President of Association for Improvised Music in Ticino from 2006 to 2014. In 2014 H. Kramer was awarded with the “Swiss Jazz Prize 2014”. Hilaria Kramer has lived in Portugal since 2013. She is working with several Portuguese projects (mainstream Jazz, modern Jazz and contemporary instant-composed music) with Portuguese Jazz veterans like Carlos Zingaro, Ze Eduardo, Miguel Mira, Joao Madeira and others.
